MINI5280 Activity Update - as of August 12th, 2005

Join us (MINI5280.org) for yet another Friday Night Out at SONIC Drive-In. Friday, August 12th:

SONIC Drive-In, 4 separate locations simultaneously.
6:30 pm for dinner and drinks. We will be there a while.

Come hungry, come happy. Anything goes.
Ride breaks out afterwards, wherever the group wants to go. Rick has volunteered to host a ride from Ken Caryl after dinner, so we will consider that. If you cannot make dinner, meet there at 8 for a ride into the....mountains. Nightime driving is FUN.

· Friday, August 19th – 2nd Annual Just Peachy run to Palisades / Grand Junction / Western Slope

· Saturday, August 20th – RMCBMWCCA Autocross at DIA. See www.rmcbmwcca.org site for details and to register to drive. Or just come and watch. You need not be a member to watch and there is no fee.

· Sunday, August 28th – The Air Force Job II – Noon at Webb Motorsports – see Calendar for details.

· Friday, September 2nd – MINI5280 Open Track Day at Pueblo Motorsports Park – See calendar for details - $60 cash at the door, plus a waiver. Leave Denver 7 am…track open 9 to 3 pm.

· Monday, September 5th – Labor Day Poker Run – Ralph Schomp MINI – 11 am to 3 pm. Come on out for what always is a fun event. This year, with a TWIST!!! See details in the MINI5280 calendar in NAM.

· Tuesday, September 13th – MINI5280 Monthly Meeting at WEBB Motorsports. Join us at 7 pm. Tech Talk.

· Sat and Sun September 17 and 18 – The HUGE Colorado English Motoring Conclave. See all details and send in your registration at www.coloradoconclave.com Last year over 500 British Cars, Trucks, Bikes and, um vehicles. Over 40 MINIs! Register to join the Ride on Saturday or the Concours on Sunday, or BOTH.

· Sunday, September 25th – 4th Annual MINI5280.org Yalla Yalla – Our Anniversary event and ride, scavenger hunt and musical interlude all rolled into one. Pre-registration not needed and prizes for everyone. See the MINI5280 Calendar in NAM for full details. Leaves from Ralph Schomp MINI.

· Friday, Saturday and Sunday October 14, 15, and 16 – Run for the Border II with the New Mexico Minis. Join us for this Second Annual event. Leave Friday night, meet in Taos on Saturday AM, and MOTOR all weekend with over 30 MINIs. Great fun, watch the Calendar for details.

Buckhorn to Bucksnort II is announced!

Come join your MINI and Mini friends for the 2nd Annual "Buckhorn to Bucksnort" lunch run. This ride begins at the Buckhorn Exchange (the oldest bar in Colorado) and ends at the Bucksnort Saloon in Sphinx Park, CO. We will invite our friends from Colorado Springs to come up the back way from CS thru Woodland Park to meet us there. We invite our friends from NorColo to head down too across the Peak to Peak and meet us in Pine Junction. This is a fun and twisty ride, not too long, and the destination includes an afternoon meal and ice cold beverages right on the river.

Here are the details:

Sunday, November 6th (the Broncos are OFF - Bye week!!)

Meet at the Buckhorn Exchange at NOON, ride leaves at 12:30. This is located at 1000 Osage St. near 10th and Santa Fe in Denver (go west just a bit to the Light Rail station...park right there...Buckhorn is just across the street)

45.9 mile ride to Pine, CO from Denver (Sphinx Park, actually - 1 mile up a dirt - egad! - road...) and only a 60.4 mile ride from downtown Colorado Springs to Pine, CO and only 56.4 miles from downtown Boulder to Pine, CO.

Ride takes right at an hour to get there, we head out Hwy 285 westbound then south at Pine Junction to Pine and Sphinx Park

Arrive at the infamous (actually, famous) Bucksnort Saloon at about 1:30. Please note that parking is very tight at this venue (you will see why) but it is perfect for MINIs since we are small. Also note that this is nothing (nothing) like the Broadmoor - don't get your hopes up at all. Enjoy lunch from the, um, eclectic menu (sammiches and salads and wings and cold ones for all) and MINI friends

MINI5280 4th Annual Yalla Yalla

MINI5280 has it's 4th annual Yalla Yalla (Anniversary Event) as follows:

- Sunday, October 1st
- 11 am to about 4 pm, give or take
- Ralph Schomp MINI in Littleton
- FREE if you have paid your dues this year
- $5 at the door if you have not, or if you are a guest
- Any vehicle welcome
- We recommend highly having a NAVIGATOR

This is a fun event, including music, quiz, navigation, and more.
