17" x 7" OZ Utraleggera ET?? 16.5lb (7.5kg)
17" x 7" OZ Superleggera ET37 15.1lb (6.8kg)
Lightest
The Ultraleggera's are the same weight as the Superleggera. I can't see a difference to be honest.

Info from other wheel sites says differant :( Was surprised myself that OZ's new light weight wheel was heavier!

Would make more sense if it didn't, but they quote the weights of the Superleggera to!? Which matches whats on MINI2!?

Would make more sense if what Lohen has is correct  but this place seems to know there stufff wheels wises. In their interest to say lighter!? Someone wanna clarify it with OZ?

More info...
http://www.wheelweights.net/ quotes...

15" x 7" OZ Superleggeras - 11.5lb (=5.216kg)
15" x 7" OZ Ultraleggeras - 11.7lb (=5.307kg)
16" x 7" OZ Superleggeras - 14.6lb (=6.622kg)
16" x 7" OZ Ultraleggeras - 16.0lb (=7.257kg)
17" x 7" OZ Superleggeras - 15.2lb (=6.894kg)
17" x 7" OZ Ultraleggeras - 17.0lb (=7.711kg)

http://www.potn.co.uk/ quotes...

15" x 7" OZ Superleggeras - 4.9kg
15" x 7" OZ Ultraleggeras - 5.2kg
16" x 7" OZ Superleggeras - ?
16" x 7" OZ Ultraleggeras - 6.6kg
17" x 7" OZ Superleggeras - ?
17" x 7" OZ Ultraleggeras - 7.5kg

So although they don't confirm the same weight, they do confirm the Ultras are heavier...

...I would always assume Ultra was better than Super.

So why would OZ not at least make their new wheel the same weight is not lighter

OZ 's uk importers do not quote a weight for the 7x17" (ie the one most people are interested in). However I got someone to weigh them both and in this size the' good old proven Superleggera' is lighter by about 0.8kg (1.75 pounds  ). So Damos figures look prety damn good.

That's bizzare.

About 7years ago I bought a set of Magesium alloys at massive expense,(Dymag). I was told by the distributor and also on the website they weighed 4.9Kg each. On receiving them they felt heavy ,so I got out the scales;they weighed 6.5kg each!!!!!!! ie over 30% overweight. I asked for my money back (about ÂŁ900) they refused, weight was the only reason I wanted them (for our Tarmac Rally R5); I took them to court and won.
From now on I weigh my own wheels,Im taking the scales down our local wheel shop !

lol best way mate :)

So has anyone being doing comparisions of tyre weights as well then??? As these vary significantly as well.... the differences in wheel weights could easily be offset by light or heavy tyres....

Just for info when I was down with Roland we weighed my Superl's 7x18 with 225 888's on them in comparision to Rolands 7x17 with 215 888's and there was about 3.5 kg difference... big wheels always means much more weight than people probably think!

Can't remember the exact weights, but of the three tyre choices I was after on my 18's, Yoko Parada's were only slightly lighter than equivalent Goodyear Eagle F1's but the Pirelli P Zero Nero's were 5lb heavier.

I believe tirerack has lots of info on tyre weights. I had to compare a differant size of tyre as they didn't list the 215/35 R18 in the eagles.

Having lived with 18" if I were to do it again I'd go for 17". 18" are just not practical for the real world.
after having owned everywheel size on a mini apart from 19's I 'd have 18's again no worries even with the knackered and broken up country lanes I drive down everyday, they are a bit bumpier obviously but I never thought they were impractical really, thats with non std suspension as well! :p

the only problem with the bigger wheels is tire costs! :(

My nemesis is curbs.:(

Very true!
One reason the ultraleg may be heavier is to make it stronger.? If you use a very light wheel on a very heavy car it is more likely to fail. As the Mini is not too heavy (like a big 7 series for example) the lighter Superlegs would IMO be the better choice. Strength v weight the superlegs take a lot of beating .
Im off to get a job with OZ in their 'special Superleg marketing department.'....
