Hi all, just bought a second hand mini for my partner, just put it in the workshop for a service and this is what they found at the bottom of the oil pan. Any ideas?

Sorry to say that it looks like a piece of the timing chain plastic tensioner. If it’s already had the timing chain done, this could be old debris, if not the timing chain and tensioner will need doing before it grenades your engine. Plastic debris can block the oil pick up.
I thought it was too until I found out it was plastic
