Hi all,
Over the past few weeks my 2007 cooper non-s has had a lot of problems starting cold. The idle is fine for a few seconds, and then splutters/stumbles over itself for a few seconds until it eventually sorts itself out, coming very close to stalling but not quite. It's had an intermittent p111b code that occasionally goes away. I've recently had a full engine rebuild, with new rings, vanos solenoids, timing chain kit, valve cover etc so not sure what could be causing this. I have noticed a small coolant leak near the water pump and the thermostat appears to be stuck open (while looking at the temps after a first start it takes a long time to warm up, and doesn't reach 105° and drop back down to ~50 like it used to) I have these parts on the way, but could that cause the rough idle/running rich engine codes? It ran the same before the thermostat started playing up so I'm really not sure.
ant help would be very appreciated, and I can attach a video of it starting if that would help.
