Water pump tensioner not activating

Hi All (especially Mike !).
Just put Countryman ALL4 back together and all good, except the new water pump tensioner doesnt engage, and hence no water pump. The tensioner came with one of those adapters (from Neo Brothers), but my original loom plug fits. Do I need to replace the original with the supplier adapter ? thx in advance.

I would only point you to this Water pump jockey electrical

not sure if it helps you but there is some specialty around different jockeys and their electrical connectors

also, the jockey is supplied with 12V from Ecu fuse F4. But if that fuse is melted, you have around 5 error codes more when you do a readout with a scanner.

But, btw, I think the jockey is electrically disengaging as long as water is cold. If it is never engaging, make sure you put the disengaging strap out of the hook. The strap is pulled onto the hook for mounting of the jockey, but you need to pull the strap off the hook, after successfully mounting the whole jockey
