I've had my new Countryman for two weeks now - and love it. However, I can't get the voice control to work at all. I've checked everything and it's all good to go, but "Hey Mini!" elicits no response at all. Any ideas?
Hi, just joined the forum. Have a 03/24 JCW. Seems to have spent a considerable time in dock with software issues. I have had all of the problems mentioned so far - Voice Control ( commands not being recognised) and Climate Control which exhibits all the faults you have mentioned. Came to start the car today and Voice Control once again not working. Booked in at my local dealer next week who will also look at Climate. Feel for everyone having software problems, should not happen in a £40K plus car particularly as it is in effect a BMW! Great to drive but fast getting fed up with it.Curiouser and curiouser! Has anyone else detected the same fan behaviour?
Question is what changed between drives? Flaky software or a sensor(s) misbehaving.
Don’t use the voice control, so can’t comment on that but I’m prepared to bet they tell you the climate control is normal. If they don’t I’ll be amazed! However, please update us as if they do actually pinpoint the fault as I really want to know. Good luck.Hi, just joined the forum. Have a 03/24 JCW. I don’t know for a fact that his dealer will say that, it’s just my hunch. My own dealer just dismissed my concerns with the comment that they all appear to be the same, so…..So is the dealer telling you that the climate control is supposed to work like that? So every other cars system modulates the fan to control the climate but Mini’s doesn’t and we’re supposed to accept that - what an insult to customers!
Had same problem in our Countryman JCW seems to of healed itself after going into the nav setting screen, enabling demo mode and manually entering a route then go. Demo mode started talking through the route. Then back to setting and switched off demo node and both assistent and Nav now working fine .. wierdI've had my new Countryman for two weeks now - and love it. Interesting. So, for example, if you get in your car and it’s, let’s say, 30 degrees C and you have the fan speed set on very low, when you set the internal temperature to be at 20 degrees C does the fan spin up high to bring the temperature down? Mine doesn’t! Equally, if I choose a higher speed fan setting (any of them as they all appear to be roughly the same apart from very low) the fan never slows down when the internal temperature is reached - but yours does? Having said that I can hear the fan pitch change occasionally (most noticeable when the car stops and auto stop/start kicks in) as if it’s trying to change speed but airflow remains largely the same. Not on very low though. On very low the fans just remain a mere whisper, regardless of temperature and setting.I don’t have this issue with the climate control in our car. Seems to work like every other BMW I’ve owned.

Having read the article and having lived with a Countryman C Sport with a level 3 pack for just over a month there are a couple of things I disagree with this reviewer.MotoringFile article noting issues with OS9 for MINI Review: One Week with the 2025 MINI Countryman S - MotoringFile
Tried the above and unfortunately no success. Yes, the U25 is MHEV in the UK but you’d never know it.My concern and I don't have a Countryman - instead 2024 Gen 3 3 door JCW - but looking at complimenting the hot hatch with a hot estate or SUV from 2025 and certainly before choice of power plant is no longer a choice. I like the look of the U25, think the F60 is a bit frumpy even the latest face lift. However not a fan of hybrid - for me its ICE or full electric and from what I can tell U25 ICE is MHEV in the UK / Europe.
Still have the spoken instructions setting in the Nav settings greyed out ?Tried the above and unfortunately no success. See what dealer makes of it tomorrow.
No, spoken instructions selected and performing vocally but Sat Nav cannot be called up using "Hey Mini, take me to ...." Have to select destination manually.Still have the spoken instructions setting in the Nav settings greyed out ?
Will double check mine in the morning cant remember trying that bit, Hey mini does answer me for other stuffNo, spoken instructions selected and performing vocally but Sat Nav cannot be called up using "Hey Mini, take me to ...." Have to select destination manually.
Ok double checked today and all is working went back over what i did yesterday, one additional step was to enable the personal assistant (have a trial of the mini connected pack running) thats the only other thing I can think I did over and above demo mode .Will double check mine in the morning cant remember trying that bit, Hey mini does answer me for other stuff
Doesn't the Sports model have firmer suspension than the basic Classic or Exclusive?Having read the article and having lived with a Countryman C Sport with a level 3 pack for just over a month there are a couple of things I disagree with this reviewer.
1. The integrated head rests - for someone like me at 6ft 1in tall the head rest touches the back of my head and makes it feel like it’s pushing it forwards. If I recline the seat then I get lower back pain which is not helped by
2. Overly firm suspension - The car is fitted with passive variable dampers these work well on undulating surfaces but on broken surfaces it is overly firm this has been pointed out by numerous reviewers.
3. OS9 - I still think a number of changes needed to be made are too many. The temperature should not need you to tap the screeen then move the temp up or down via the + or - signs. Trying to slide it whilst driving never seems to work well.
4. Indicators are shown on the main OLED screen but are not displayed on the heads up display which I think is a poor oversight.
overall the car is great to drive (except for overly firm suspension) and the driver aids are great. The cabin is well made, roomy, the sunshine roof is great, the rear seat adjustments brilliant and the boot for us including the under floor space plenty enough.
the car is quiet on the move with little wind or tyre noise which is great on a long run.
Mini do need to rethink in the future adding back analogue controls touch screen has gone too far and is more complex and dangerous to use on the move. But we are loving the car.
This nothing wit respect how much problems I have with my new countryman classic 2024.Exactly the same for me. I have just taken delivery of my Cooper S 2024, and have no sound from the Sat Nav. I also can’t activate ‘Hey Mini’ or ‘Hey Siri’. Did you get your issues sorted?
