Hello all,

My first post :)

I wanted to surprise my daughter by buying her a modern car radio to replace the one in her 2004 Mini 1.6 Cooper R50.
So I bought the radio (a Sony) and also a connects2 kit to connect the radio and also keep the controls on the steering wheel.
I installed everything and it works... except that I have no sound.
After doing some research, I realized that this is because the Mini is equipped with a Harman Kardon system and there is an amp.
Still doing research, I found some "home made" adapters, including one called hk enabler.

I found three solutions:
http s://www.hkenabler .co.uk
http s://newministuff .com/hk-enabler-465-p.asp
http s://www.caraudioexpress.co .uk/manufacturers/hk-enabler/minihkenabler (diy)

The majority of posts concerning the kit date from like 10 years or so.
So I'm wondering if there are other solutions or cheaper solutions?
Both HK enabler cost about ÂŁ100 (shipping included to .be)... That will make the replacement worth ÂŁ220!

Thanks for your feedback!
